New York, New York—By definition, Compound means “a thing that is composed of two or more separate elements; a mixture.” Deep in the South Bronx, where the first melting pot was set ablaze by the birth of Hip-Hop, resides The Compound. The latest creative kitchen, where recipes of art and music are stirred with flavors of fashion and sports to create an aroma of infinite creativity, is what The Compound serves daily. For its latest course, The Compound has partnered with both prolific artist Ron English, whose work has been coined as “POPaganda” for his recognizable mash-up style of cultural touchstones, and Made By Monsters toy architect, Chris Kong.

Critically acclaimed for creating the AND1 Mixtapes, Set Free, The Compound’s maestro, has a knack for being ahead of the curve when it comes to co-creating. CEO of Fader Magazine, Rob Stone said of Free: “His ideas are 5 to 7 years ahead and most people can’t even grasp what he brings to the table or creates.” Set Free first met Chris Kong in Berlin, Germany while on tour DJing for Mos Def, who later introduced him to Ron English. It was just a matter of time before the masterminds compounded their shared passion and ideas to embark on their latest creative endeavour to celebrate the Final Edition of one of the pop-art’s most identifiable characters, “Charlie Grin” to celebrate their 10th anniversary – Compound
