MEMEKO emerges from the fevered imagination of Dave Ryo Lau and Queenie Fok—a soft vinyl phantom that haunts the liminal space between childhood memory and anatomical dread. Standing 17cm tall, this spectral form wears a patina of age like a second skin. Multiple glass eyes—watching, always watching—pierce through its weathered surface.
The glossy black hair frames a visage caught between innocence and something far more unsettling. But the true horror lies within: a translucent chest cavity opens to reveal a writhing landscape of painted organs, a grotesque symphony of colour and texture that pulses with an almost living quality. Each piece bears the marks of human hands—imperfections that whisper of ritual, of careful construction in dim light.
The soft vinyl yields slightly to touch, warm and disturbingly flesh-like. Nothing is quite symmetrical. Nothing is quite right. For those who collect the strange and the beautiful, who find poetry in the macabre and comfort in the uncanny, MEMEKO is a found object from a dream you can’t quite remember—and wouldn’t want to forget.
