Denis Paradis artist from Argentina known as Camote Toys continues with the pop culture/aztec mythology crossovers. This time around the beloved Hello Kitty pop icon gets a twist in a unique resin toy sculpture.
The Aztecs considered the earth as giver of life and death. It could provide corn at harvest and decompose organic matter, oscillating between both conditions in a continuous cycle.
The childbirth position had an ambivalent meaning. In addition to involving birth, it could represent the act of defecation (interpreted as filth and dirt) and also be associated with sexuality and lust.

Fertility deities could encourage sexual desires, punish sexual transgressions and forgive these sins. They fed on filth to purify the earth and weave new life. Hence, sexuality was considered as a method for arranging the world, with its feminine and masculine energies.
