We’re always excited to see the latest ideas and developments making use of 3D printing technology and these unique 3D printed phone cases offer an interesting take on the humble smart phone case. Check out Eng Case by Rong Guo.
Now I have seen similar ideas to this out there already but it’s clear that these have been refined and are much more user friendly.
Not only do they look pretty damn cool, they offer some novel fun and playability, aswell as an array of customizable options (even every toy fans favourite: Glow in the Dark!), a choice of funky colours and custom tags.
The Eng Case is built with actual working gears demonstrating mechanical principles with meticlulous design to protect iPhones, Nexus, and Samsung smart phones.
Eng Case is not just something that’s 3D printed, its a combination of art and engineering design. It represents the trend of future fabricating technology. With the flexibility of 3D printing, I was able to make varies designs without worrying about the huge initial cost of moulding. Eng Case designs are comfortable in your hand, and fun to play with. You will find yourself spinning the gears while loading apps, and showing your awesome case every time you see a friend. Furthermore, customized tags makes your case personal.
So go check out more information on the Kickstarter page and back the project!
