Chinese New Year 2017 is officially here and The Toy Chronicle Asia part of the family Yui Wai Lai gives his top picks of 2016 and his recap of 2016. First of all, we would like to thank Yui for all the hard work and using his own time to report for The Toy Chronicle whilst spreading the love. These designer toys and art collectables are mostly in his collection or seen in person. Make something to drink and possibly grab a snack as Yui takes you through his 2016 recap and top picks.
2016 has been a year of collaboration between designers around the world and I am very grateful to be part of it behind the scenes.
Toy Photography have never come across my mind before as I always think photography are an expensive hobby but thanks to technology, our smart phones are pretty well equipped with this feature and come in handy.
So I started to take toy photos in various toy shows and exhibition since 2014 as some of the works by the artist are so inspiring that I decided to capture them using my handphone.
Since then I’ve made so many friends after posting toy pics on Facebook and Instagram. That was how I met my dear friend Andy Hung. Finally had a chance to meet him in person at Thailand Toy Expo 2016.
So here are my humble Top List of toys from various toys exhibitions and custom shows I’ve attended in 2016.
