We don’t know about you guys, but whenever we travel to a new city we are always on the look out for new urban/designer toy stores. Where can we get our fix of vinyl goodness whilst we are out on our travels. Yeah, we try our hands using Google, maybe asking our hundred friends on Facebook or scouring forums. Even then you don’t get a decent list. This is where Toysdorado’s Urban Toy Locator comes in to assist.
From the creators behind Toysdorado’s Be@rbrick Database (running since 2006). Today Toysdorado wanted to introduce you to their new project, Urban Toy Locator, which we think could be rather interesting to travellers looking to get their hands on some vinyl toys whilst they’re on the road. The site just launched so Toysdorado are currently spreading the word and hope to improve this free service even further based on initial community feedback and suggestions in the months ahead.
Urban Toy Locator is a completely free and community driven store finder for designer toys (vinyl, plush etc.). The site already lists some Brick & Mortar and Online stores worldwide with many more to come. Their aim is to support the community of toy collectors and fans with a tool which lets you easily find stores – in your area, online or while travelling. Unlike forum threads on various sites, Toysdorado aim and hope to keep it up-to-date at all times by allowing everyone (collectors and store owners) to easily contribute. By creating a free account, anyone can submit new stores or provide feedback and updates to existing stores.
As mentioned above, the website has been developed by Toysdorado. They are passionate toy collectors themselves and before Urban Toy Locator they released another purely fan-based website, a comprehensive database of Be@rbricks by Medicom Toy that they’ve managed to keep updated since 2006.
