Sphynx Light & Mini’s By SomeStrangeThings

Catalonia Barcelona based Marcos Lorenzo AKA SomeStrangeThings is looking rock your world again with his own take on Maneki Neko Lucky Cat! Meet the new SPHYNX Maneki Neko light edition resin figure, wait it must be breeding season as now there is mini SPHYNX Maneki Neko light edition resin figures too!  Like we said last year, this SPHYNX Maneki Neko badass cat was born to be badass with its tattoos, piercings, studs and other stuff at the most typical SomeStrangeThing’s style. It’s just a punk diabolic sphynx cat saying hi to the world. But there’s MORE! SomeStrangeThing’s first hint at whats to come in the form of sofubi style release based on SPHYNX which also will be made available in the near future as a blank platform for any other toy artist or customizer.

Sphynx Maneki Neko Light version is the same as the original one but in different color skin. Mini versions are scaled versions of the bigger ones but with some little differences: mainly the Maneki Neko has a magnet in its paw that helps it to hold metal stuff like metal bottle caps or so. Another thing is that it’s possible to order any of the Sphynx cats without tattoos.

Sphynx Maneki Neko Light is the same size as the original, a limited series of 30 units, homemade handcrafted resin toys, 150mm 5.9 inches high, painted with acrylics, tattooed with transfer techniques and various attached rivets (plastic / metal) studs and spikes. Mini versions are 100mm 4 inches high and similar characteristics, also limited series of 30.

SPHYNX is the best company a punk goth girl can have: always ready to eat stupid souls with it’s big fangs and diabolic tongue; always visible in the dark with its red fire eyes; always free of blood spots and so with it’s metallic matte paint; and of course plenty of accessories like it’s ouija pointer, perfect to talk with other people. But warning: don’t feed it before midnight.

These sculptures are worldwide released and available from now at the SomeStrangeThings Store at the price of 150€ and 50€.
Deliveries are planned in about two months but there will be some copies available at the ToyCon UK 2018.
