Chino Lam must be pinching himself when he got the call up from HYPEBEAST for the Leborn James 2018 Tour x John Elliott “More Than An Athlete”. Chino Lam once again sparking his love for Basketball and street culture with an opportunity to design and produce a figure for the event! Chino Lam paid homage to Leborn James with a soft vinyl Leborn James figure! Urban stylised with the oversized Leborn beard and the contrast of gold over black with actually has a metaphor to it.
For making a breakthrough in the classic NBA star/king image of LeBron James, this work focuses on his facial features to the extent that is sufficient for recognition at one glance. For the body part, John Elliot’s style sports gear and the latest Nike LeBorn James x John Elliot sneakers are adopted to outline Lebron’s trained and muscular body. It also brings out the other sides of LeBron – ‘off court’ athlete and fashion.
The work uses transparent material enveloping golden spheres within. It is a metaphor for the tranquil and firm gesture before the battle, hidden behind this are the desires, eternality, glory and hope, forming a great contrast, and ready to explode at any moment.

為了突破一般人心目中LeBron James的球員與帝王的經典印象，是次設計上只強調LeBron James的面部特徵，但熟悉他的人仍能一眼看出。身體部分配上John Elliott風格的運動裝及最新的Nike LeBron James x John Elliot 運動鞋，兩者結合下突顯出LeBron James千錘百煉的強壯身形外，亦藉此帶出他在球場以外的另一面 – 集合運動員身份與時尚於一身的LeBron James。
整件作品選用透明的物料再內藏金球，正如現在的LeBron James，外表冷靜沈著應戰，把所有戰鬥力、永恆、榮耀及希望藏在內心，形成對比，隨時爆發！
