Ahhh we know we are getting close to DesignerCon when Johnny Cupcakes starts to reveal their DCon surprises. JC has been part of the last few DesignerCon, with special VIP shirts and exclusive releases. This year it looks like we are getting at least one special mini figure from Johnny Cupcakes, plus the usual awesome t-shirts.
First & foremost, Johnny Cupcakes is a t-shirt bakery. The world’s first t-shirt bakery, in fact and they have revealed through DesignerCon the first VIP DCon 2019 t-shirt (which you can check out below). This tee will be only available to those that purchase either the MVP or VIP DCon tickets. The tee will be priced at $40.
On to the minifigs! Johnny Cupcakes has long been a fan of the KAWS as we have previously seen two releases inspired by the works of Mr Donnelly (see HERE and HERE). Now it looks like JC has dissected himself in the shape of this new minifig that was shared on the Johnny Cupcakes IG page recently. We can only assume that when we the full colour version of this minifig, we’ll see the KAWS colours coming vibrantly through!

Below are the two minifigs that Johnny Cupcakes released this past Halloween last month, to give you an idea of what to expect when it comes to this new DesignerCon JC minifig release. Both previous releases were limited to 50, and the DCon release will also be 50 pieces. We are already seeing a lot of interest for these online within the JC Addicts Facebook group, so no doubt these will sell quick on VIP night (Fri 22nd Nov). No details on price at the time of writing. The minifigs, as well as a ‘slew of other special items’ will be available from the Johnny Cupcakes DesignerCon booth #1819!

If you want to support The Toy Chronicle, we have a number of options available to you. Purchasing one of our pins really help. A quick, cheap way to also support the TTC is by making a small donation. These can all be completed below through our online shop. We appreciate all the support! Thanks!
Love the Johnny “Lego”
Would love to see him team up with some toy artists for a JC toy release
nice, clean design. A nod to Disney / Mickey ears in the cloud shapes, maybe?
I miss the Jonny Cupcakes shop in London, some good times were had there back in the day *ding*
yeah I feel like my addiction has somewhat waned since the London store closed. It’s difficult to get hold of tees now in the UK without paying shipping and custom charges.
