Sometimes a silhouette can speak volumes, and one that spoke to us is Changeling Leaf by Amy Sol x Munky King. Way back in May Amy teased the world with the prototype of Changeling Leaf and fast forward to the present day Munky King has teased us all with Maple edition. Fans of Amy Sol of new and old will be given the chance to own vinyl version of Amy’s much more affordable signature style.
A round of applause Munky King being able to transfer Amy’s art into fully fledged vinyl with the style and flow intact of Changeling Leaf. Even with this first Maple edition, you can fall in love with the silhouette without the need of being fully painted edition.
Sol’s works are characterized by young maidens in dream-like nature settings with oversized or sometimes fanciful creatures. One gets a sense that the girls are interacting with the animals as mythic partners or perhaps “familiars.” There is no indication that these animals are pets; rather friends or perhaps partners. The exotic landscapes include plants, impossible trees, mist & fog, clouds, flowers, and rolling hills. With a muted pallet of pastels and washed out grays; her style is influenced by folk-art, contemporary illustration, manga, and modern design.
Changeling Leaf – Maple edition comes to life in a translucent amber-colored soft-vinyl. MunkyKing’s first soft-vinyl figure to date! Making it’s debut at DesignerCon 2018.
Changeling Leaf will be at Munky King booth Booth #400. Edition of 100 (99 because one hopefully will be at TTC headquarters, HA. priced at $65each.
