Moonshine Samurai By Jan Calleja

This is one more reason why we gave The Toy Chronicle Artist Spotlight to “Jan Calleja”. Jan presents to you “Moonshine Samurai” a custom Custom Samurai Skullhead which is heading to the Custom Samurai Skullhead show by Pobber Toys at FLABSLAB featuring artists from around the world under one roof.

The key for us is that you can still make out the original platform and Jan keeping the initial integrity of the original Samurai Skullhead silhouette. Impressive paintwork and the way Jan has added and manipulated the parts is always one of the highlights. Retro look is to die for, look a little closer and you’ll spot extra details and decals which add more depth to the custom.

Photos never actually do anything justice, but looking and judging from these. They do look to have a showroom finish, real BEAUTY.

Jon Paul Kaiser and Huck Gee should be proud of what Jan has produced. Definitely not what you’d expect to see or even predict with the given platform.

24th MARCH at FLABSLAB 7pm SG time

Sales enquiries for the show please email [email protected]

Love Jan’s work and missed our Artist Spotlight article? Check it out HERE.

Check out Top Gear Philippines segment on Jan! So cool.

Moonshine Samurai will be on the show and on sale but we don’t think it will last a second as it will be snapped up by a collector.

Check our more customs from Jan via Flickr. Jan has opened up his commission list right now so you can finally own one of his masterpieces. Simply email Jan via [email protected] or message via Facebook tell him The Toy Chronicle sent you.
