TTC received a great email today with legendary underground artist, Jeff Gaither and custom toy newcomer, Phil Back. As the vinyl toy scene continues to grow in the Louisville, KY area, as Ultra Pop — the best source for designer vinyl toys in the area — hosted the second annual “Show Me the Munny” custom Munny show. featuring creations from both Jeff and Phil.
8″ Munny, painted by the notorious Jeff Gaither. The intricate details on this piece are great and nice detail on the eye. Pretty cool that it stands on a sculpted rock which makes the colours pop out even more.
by Phil Back, features a war hammer, battle scarred shield and is packaged in a custom, laser cut wooden box, for when Valhalla comes calling. Pretty cool texture colours on the helmet and if Phil is classing himself as a newcomer to the scene then if this is anything to go by the future is promising.
The laser cut wooden box is SWEET! digging the logo too.
The Cybermunny [model 74]
By Phil Back, reveals cybernetic robotics hidden beneath a black vinyl shell. Cybermunny resides in a wooden box with laser etched, sliding acrylic lid. A very Interesting concept maybe the finishing could be a little better. That robotic arm is MINT!
By Gaither, is an 8″ munny that takes a familiar icon of old and flips it on its head! It features the perfect accessory pack: a set of brass knuckles and a barbwire-wrapped billy club.
Cat Racer 74
Is an 8″ custom Trikky. He features dual arm blasters and a symmetrical design, created by Phil Back.
