Something that we have been considering for some time, is working with Klarna to offer another payment method on the TTC Shop, but we wanted to get it right for our customers. We spoke with a number of our peers about the possibility of adding Klarna to the TTC Shop to ensure that we were making the right decision.
Klarna, for those that are not familiar, allows customers to choose Klarna payment method at the TTC Shop checkout, and you will get the option to shop now and pay later for your purchase. No interest. No fees. Our main concern about offering this type of payment method, was customers overspending beyond their means but following discussions they could do that regardless of whether we offered Klarna, through credit cards or Paypal Credit etc. Ultimately, it is the customers responsibility to manage their finances as they see fit. Offering methods such as Klarna, we can give customers opportunities to easily manage their toy purchases.
Initially, the Klarna method will allow the option to pay in 14 days. Place an order today, and in 14 days make the payment via Klarna for the order. Klarna will handle all payments, and will communicate to you via email when the payment is due. If the item you have purchased is available to ship, we will ship out your order immediately and you will be able to pay Klarna in 14 days.
There are instances where products are not readily available for shipping yet. Either pre-orders, or products on route from US or Asia to The Toy Chronicle. These products sell in advance from the TTC Shop. Klarna will still be available for these products, you will select the Pay in 14 Days option and Klarna will arrange the payment in the 14 days. The product will ship once available in the UK. We always strive to include an updated Estimated Shipping Date on each product page in bold, so that you know when to expect your products to be shipped.
We hope to add more Klarna payment methods, such as monthly financing and the ability to split your payment into the three chunks rather than paying up front the full amount.

How does Pay in 14 days work?
If your Pay later request is accepted, Klarna will send you an email with payment instructions once your order is accepted with The Toy Chronicle. Just follow the link in the email to view your order or check your purchase in the Klarna app.
Does Pay in 14 days impact my credit score?
Klarna may run a soft credit search that does not affect a customers credit score and is only visible on your credit file by you and Klarna. Neither Klarna nor our merchants run credit searches that could impact your credit rating. This includes at the point of application, if a payment is missed, or if the outstanding balance enters a debt collection stage.
