The resin art toy “Melanzasca” by Silvano Beggio AKA Ducan, inspired by the Italian gangsters of ‘50-‘60’s such as the legendary Vallanzasca, Barbieri, Fantazzini and more, is back for another run! In fact, the name Melanzasca is a mix between the italian word melanzana (the aubergine) which reminds the vegetable shape itself and Vallanzasca (an old italian bandit from 70’s).
We covered some of the previous versions (HERE and HERE) and thought it would be a good idea to give you the heads up for this ‘Nera Carne’ rendition;
” I don’t have a single story, I’m a multitude of stories. I carry the name of a bandit, but in my disguises I’m all those robbers, smugglers, people carrying knives who belonged to a romantic, working class underworld which doesn’t exist anymore. I’m a robber, a gentleman, a gangster. I live in hidden places, where outcasts people live, people with no redemption.”

A one of a kind Melanzasca will be on show from 21st of October until 4th of March 2018 at
the Tolosa Puppets International Center – Topic Museum- during the show: “A journey into the Universe of Art Toys”
An Art Toys Exhibition coordinated and led by the Topic Museum and organized and curated by the
International Art Collective “Art Toy Gama” and Fran Picazo, in the city of Tolosa, Spain.
