Does this happen to you sometimes? when you think about someone that you’ve not heard from for a while and they magically appear! Well in this case with Kevin Nam of Inami Toyland and now with a revamped brand. Changing from Inami Toyland to inami toys which includes new logo and a flashy new website. Kevin sent in his long awaited release the Mecha Top!
“Presenting the next-gen Rock-Paper-Scissors Top! The Mecha Top is designed as a robotic mining exosuit. Each Top uses real cold-cast metal for the handle and drill. As an added feature, the Pilot is posable by turning to face any direction. Each Mecha Top also comes with a rock base for display purposes. The play feature is very simple to use. Just spin it and once it stops whichever hand is raised is Mecha Top’s move.”
“Also, for the first time I’ll be giving people an inside look at my process. I made a video documenting the journey of creating the Mecha Top. There’s lots of hand sculpting action and toymaking know-how so I hope you all enjoy it!”
Kevin Nam is a toymaker from Brooklyn, NY. He trained as an apprentice under Peter Kato at Cortes Studio. During that period he learned about hand-sculpting, moldmaking, and resin casting. Now he spends his time honing these skills in order to create a world of toys that are creative and fun.
A Yellow guy with bad English who's a chef by trade but addicted to toys and art. Instagram nutter rambling food addict who likes to take photos of everything I eat (most Asians do right?) Please don't class me as a journalist or blogger, more on the lines of talent scout and always backs the little guy.
