Will Rimel aka W.A.R. (William Archer Rimel) The sculpture artist which we’ve featured a couple of times HERE, has an exciting project to announce. Having won Kidrobots “What Are The Gorillaz Up To Now” contest and done some toy shows with Kidrobot, Woot Bear, Clutter and Martian Toys. Will is preparing his release of his first official resin toy!
All of the pieces of art I make I call “Funk Muffins”, it is the world of characters I have created and I feel it embodies the odd, colourful and whimsical style of my work. This piece is called “Bavid”. This is a very small edition of 12 pieces and is set up like a blind box.
The original piece was hand sculpted by myself, moulded and cast by TaskOne and hand painted by me. Each piece is completely unique in its paint style and you won’t know which one you get until you open it. All the Bavids come in their own professionally designed heavy cardstock box and come with a comical “Warning Label” written by me on the bottom.
The toy itself measures 3”x 3.5” x 2” and the box is 4” x 4” x 3”. This piece is an absolute labour of love, it reminds me of the days I started out as a toy collector buying blind boxes, never knowing what I would get but always ending up satisfied. My only goal with this series is to sell enough to make another new series of toy and so on.I am hoping with your help I can make that dream a reality.
