PLANET-X is ready to take over Bejing as he is ready to unleash a whole range of Monsters for his Monsters Republic 2018 Solo Exhibition at Streams Gallery! Already gave you a teaser a couple of weeks ago HERE. Today we give you a little more info about the show. Expect one of a kind piece as well as exclusives for the solo show. Ranging from HUGE ass Monsters as well as the new smaller sizes (They might be smaller but still pack a punch! be WARNED) This weekend at STREAMS Beijing Gallery!
PLANET-X was established in Hong Kong in 2016 as an independent toy label, focusing on the production of collectible soft vinyl kaiju toys. With the aim to achieve a signature aesthetics, PLANET-X has been striving to combine in its toys color scheme and proportion of vintage Japanese vinyls from the 60s, bold and odd ideas from 70s-80s Hong Kong toys, as well as contemporary detailing pioneered by action figures from the 90s.
10 different soft vinyl kaiju were launched since PLANET-X made its debut. Limited edition custom-painted by renowned artists like Blobpus (Japan), Guumon (USA), Kenth Toy Works (Japan), Max Toys Co. (USA), Purple Toys (PRC) and Shifty Toys (France) were sought after by collectors.
Apart from its continual collaboration with Crybag Design (PRC) and Naomi Knaff (Canada), PLANET-X will be working with Plaseebo (USA) and Tokyo Jesus (Japan) to further add variety to its product line.Jointly organized by STREAMS and PLANET-X, “MONSTERS’ REPUBLIC” is meant to bring forth the opportunity for soft vinyl toy collectors in China to better understand PLANET-X and its products. An assortment of limited and one-off items will be up for grab at the event.
