Hi it’s Andy here, to my dear friends and customers of TTC. I should have put this out much sooner as you are owed an explanation on what’s happening with the TTC shop.
Pedro and I never wanted the TTC shop to use the same name as the blog right from the start. We knew it would be a conflict of interest with where the blog was heading, but were assured by our colleagues that this would be a good move.
I have spent years building trust and friendships only to see them being washed away with unpaid orders, constant emails and messages regarding unfulfilled orders from a store that shares the TTC name, but which I have no control over.
Seeing your messages online voicing your frustration hurts me and Pedro, even if it has nothing to do with us and we have no way of addressing the problems with the store that are causing all this stress. We appreciate however that decisions need to be made to prevent further damage to the blog, and more importantly our working relationships and friendships.
To my producer and artist friends who have reached out asking why messages and emails have been unanswered and why one of our members posts about flying out overseas when bills haven’t been paid. I am truly sorry this
is the case but as silly as it sounds, I have no control over their actions. I do not condone them.
I truly have no idea my producer friends were being approached to supply items to the TTC shop. I have not received a single cent from any transaction. I am sorry but as silly as it sounds, I have no control.
It would not be easy for us to just walk away from TTC because of the time and tears we have put into it over the years, but it is heart-breaking watching it burn because of my naivety and thinking it would eventually turn around for the store.
Pedro and I will be negotiating with Gary what his next steps will be and the possibility of renaming the store away from TTC name so we can try and move the blog forward in a positive way. If we can’t achieve this we’ll need to consider if we want to remain part of TTC’s journey.
Better late than never but I am truly sorry it has gotten to this stage. Once further decisions have been made I will update you further.
