After ten years lost in toy limbo, Smash Tokyo Toys is back! The Great Godfather of Australian sofubi has returned with an eye-popping, tongue-poking, nose-dribbling official collaboration with Jeff Lamm.
Matt (MattyBoomBatty) Walls from Smash Tokyo Toys is bringing Jeff Lamm’s Greasebat down under with JEFF LAMM X SMASH TOKYO TOYS GREASEBALLS wave 1.
A super-limited colour release only available to Australian soft-vinyl collectors sure to rock their world.
HOW GOOD ARE THEY?
Well, this limited to ten in the world run was painted by Brisbane-based soft vinyl customiser and amazing tattoo artist S.D.Carroll and is being released at Queensland’s only Japanese vinyl toy store – Moonbase Toys, so you know this limited, it won’t last long.
The Australian JEFF LAMM X SMASH TOKYO TOYS GREASEBALLS are factory clear sofubi with yellow and purple clear paints with squishy brain inserts and green highlights.
Matt from Smash Tokyo Toys is very excited to have the opportunity to work with Jeff to bring these outrageous toys to Australian collectors who are often passed over and forgotten by designers when it comes to toy releases.
This first wave, one of two Australian exclusive colorways, is called the “Moonbase Colorway“.
The toys are walk-in only from Moonbase Toys in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and there will be no online sales, it is first-in-best dressed or as they say in Australia: Rafferty’s Rules!
A second run of 10 Swamp Monster inspired Greaseballs painted by S.D.Carroll will be released in February 2025.
Make sure you follow Moonbase Toys proprietor Mark McTaggart (I.G.: @tonneran_oz_too) for more updates on this beautiful piece of Jeff Lamm and Greasebat history.
