The long-awaited rebirth is HERE! From the masterminds behind the Gashadokutop, Ushi-Oni and our favorites Moth Twins and Mushiro The Beetle are back! Formerly Cereal Box Toys Go! Number 2 Combo is a collaborative effort between two Canadian brothers designing sofubi showcased Moth Twins and Mushiro The Beetle at Design Festa in Japan earlier in the year and now, in time for Halloween, Mushiro the Beetle and The Almonds return for their second release in green glow in the dark vinyl! Produced in Japan and designed by Number 2 Combo.
Mushiro the Beetle stands 6” tall and is articulated at the arms and head, while The Almonds stand 5.5” tall with articulation at the neck. Please note that each moth order contains 1 moth only.
“Mushiro would rather eat Beetle Jelly Cups than fight, but the recent return of insect fighting has brought him back to the fighting circuit. He believes that these highly popular events are exploitative and results in needless bloodshed. Mushiro hopes to collect all the Insect Belts and use them along with his fame as a platform to run as the first insect politician and end insect fighting once and for all.”
“The Almonds are a pair of co-dependent brothers who always fight as a team. They aren’t particularly strong or intelligent, so they rely on tricks and manipulation to win. The Almonds motive for fighting isn’t clear. It’s suspected that they accidentally signed up for the insect fighting circuit believing they had registered for a credit card to buy a new TV. Nonetheless, they are official contestants and will fearlessly fight for one another.”
