Right from the get-go, Thailands duo, Suppachok and Kwantiang of “Noodle Engine” caught our attention back in February when sketches and render of their fantastic “Boxing Beet”! Hitting us with combos from all directions. Not overly cute and we love a little insect action. Over the past couple of months, we have been keeping tabs on Noodle Engine and the process of Boxing Beet. Yesterday we got word that the prototypes are nearly finished and ready to breed! ( not really breeding, more produced, HA) Noodle Engine wanted to bring a little homage to his childhood and traditions into the scene. Noodle Engine presents to you the “Boxing Beet” 2 characters, Rumble & Roar. Get ready for the main event of the evening!
“Boxing Beet” is the project born from my love of beetles since my childhood, which prompts me to use Beetles characteristics in Art toys. Who would have thought the thing that inspires me is the picture of a frog riding a beetle! That picture reminds me of Thailand’s countryside vibe, Traditional folk plays, beetle fighting, and muay Thai. At that moment, the thought had crossed my mind that why not try combining the aggressive characteristics of the stag beetle and muay Thai, which lead to the creation of “Boxing Beet” project. – Noodle Engine
ที่มาของ Boxing Beet..Boxing Beet เป็นโปรเจ็คที่เกิดจากความชอบด้วงกว่างที่มีมาตั้งแต่สมัยเด็กของผม ทำให้ผมอยากที่จะนำคาแรคเตอร์ของด้วงมาผสมผสานใน Art toy ใครจะนึกว่าสิ่งที่จุดประกายไอเดียนั้นก็คือภาพกบขี่ด้วง! ภาพนั้นได้ทำให้นึกถึงบรรยากาศชายทุ่งชนบทของไทย ประเพณีการละเล่นพื้นบ้านต่างๆจนไปถึง “กีฬาชนกว่าง” และ “มวยไทย” ในตอนนั้นเองทำให้เกิดไอเดียว่าทำไมไม่ลองจับคาแรคเตอร์ดุดันของด้วงกว่างนำมาผสมกับกีฬามวยที่ดุดันไม่แพ้กัน ทำให้กำเนิดเป็นโปรเจ็ค Boxing Beet ขึ้นมา – Noodle Engine
