Last weekend, at Designercon, David Riesenberg aka Gingerskull presented his Goldbloom Gingerskulls for the first time! Pretty neat concept and turned out freaking great! Dcon attendees thought the same too. Now David wants to share with you too and give you a little insight into the concept and process behind the Goldbloom. Plus you now have the chance to own one of the unique Goldbloom Gingerskulls.
The idea was combining traditional sculpting design and art with mathematical principles and new manufacturing techniques.
The result is a line of 60 unique characters that were modelled digitally and to which I applied an algorithm that I wrote which generates the growth texture.
The figures were then 3D printed and hand painted in black and gold. There are no duplicates in the line and each one is singular.
