During the Marsham Toy Hour episode at the end of July with Ben Goretsky (founder of DesignerCon amongst many other things), Ben brought up the news that Kidrobot were putting together a Dunny Mini Series to celebrate DCon curated by George Gasper (congrats on the recent nuptials btw). Whilst not many details are known regarding this Dunny Series at this time, new artwork for the series has surfaced and we wanted to share this with you to get you excited.
It started in 2005 in a 1100 sq. ft room and titled ”VTN” (Vinyl Toy Network.) Fast forward to 2017 to over 500 vendors and 35,000 people in attendance, Designer Con is now one the most highly anticipated events in the vinyl toy scene each year. Celebrating artists that are part (or have been part) of Designer Con during the growth of the show, the Kidrobot x DCON Vinyl Figure Mini Series is a shout out to artists loyalty and creativity. Highlighting different art, styles, and design, this mini-series is a small bite out of the extensive talent that Art and events bring together.
We can’t wait to see which artists are going to be involved in this Dunny mini series for DCon. With only 85 days to go until DesignerCon 2018 opens in Anaheim for the first time, we won’t have long to wait before more details are known on this series! If you want to listen to the Marsham Toy Hour podcast where Ben G discusses all things DCon, you can check it out HERE.
We are super pumped for DesignerCon this year. Both Andy & TTC Beard will be heading on over to Anaheim to experience first hand this new location for DCon. Who else is going? If you’re going and have yet to buy your tickets, you can do so HERE.
