It’s official ELZ-co. has linked up with our buddies at Inscape Studio! With one more sleep until ToySoul 2021 they had to make a statement right? Meet Bora Bora the Koala! Led by founder and artist Thelk, ELZ-co. will be releasing its first-ever vinyl figure
“Bora Bora Koala” in collaboration with Inscape Studio, exclusively available at the ToySoul 2021.
Bora Bora Koala is a 4″ vinyl figure with innovative design features, tied to exploring the main concepts of identity, mindfulness and mental wellness.
Born in Bora Bora, Bora Bora Koala always felt like it didn’t truly belong.
Everything here — surroundings, weather, culture etc. — was so different from where it was supposed to be, Australia. it struggled to find a sense of belonging in this hot and humid limbo filled with smiling, enthusiastic tourists and was grumpy all the time.
However, a mysterious encounter one day changed its mind. It started to put aside previous thoughts, open its mind and start appreciating Bora Bora from the perspective of the
happy tourists.
That’s when it realised, what it saw as limbo could actually be paradise to others.
Perhaps, the key to finding inner peace even in unfamiliar situations was mindful.
Negative Sculpt With Casting Functionality ELZ-co.’s previous experience with inner-embossed effects translates to techniques also applicable in their first vinyl
figure. Located in the volcano skull of the koala’s head is a negatively sculpted brain with the koala’s face, representing the sense of identity that it struggles with and is constantly searching for.
This allows figure owners to create their own brains out of the vinyl figure itself through casting of plaster, concrete, resin or similar materials; interacting with the character and helping to complete the story of Bora Bora Koala. The volcano skull is painted on the inner layer of the figure so as to prevent any damage to the paint job upon casting.
Each Bora Bora Koala vinyl figure comes with an individually numbered leaf, officially 3D printed by ELZ-co. There is also a hidden trait leaf derivative, for those who are lucky enough! The leaf can be inserted into the slot of Bora Bora Koala’s mouth to create the effect of it sleepily munching away.
Last but not least, Bora Bora Koala is affiliated with an upcoming ambitious NFT project. Owners of the ToySoul exclusive Bora Bora Koala vinyl figure will receive priority whitelist access to the Delirious Mind Travelers NFT project presale!
