The famous quote from Forest Gump “My mom always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” well in this case we know exactly what we will get and LOVE! Akinori Oishi presents to you the Kinoko Family! Japanese artist Akinori Oishi celebrates family connections and closeness. We love the meaning behind the art pieces and have the Akinori Oishi signature style that we have loved over the years right down to the box.
Kinoko means Mushroom in Japanese. Similar to a family, mushrooms communicate and bond through their mycelium root network.
What is visible above ground is a small fraction compared to the memories and stories shared through time that are not visible.
This project started at the beginning of the pandemic and it is fitting we honor our connections with one another.
