We have have teamed up with Collect & Display to bring you eleven new artists series for 2015. This coming Friday is the launch of this years monthly artist series and what way to kick off the series with three exclusive customs by PJ Constable.

Artist from the UK – From a young age I have had a strong interest in drawing animals and monsters from my imagination. Many afternoons and Saturday mornings were spent watching cartoons which have all strongly influenced my art and style, filled with quirky and unusual characters.

These Cacti customs are all based off 3″ Kidrobot Dunnys, all of which have been cut open and heavily sculpted on to create the cactus form and texture (No prickles for safety purposes though!) Each Custom features scratch sculpted critters living within or on their hollowed out bodies. No place too dangerous to call home!

Having a quick catch up with Pj we asked him what was behind the story of this marvellous series.

TTC : What was the general idea of this series of customs and how do you come up with the concept?

Pj : I had done a cactus themed custom a couple of years back which I had a lot of fun making. Also I’ve just always has a fascination with Cacti, whenever I went to the garden center with my mum I’d sometimes come home with a new small potted cactus to add to my window display.

“Adding the critters to the customs was just a way to add more character to them. I also like having multiple characters in each piece makes them more fun for me to make and including interactions always makes things more interesting”

Below is a few WIP shots for the Pj’s series for this month!
