Let’s see them grails!!! How many are gonna be old? How many will be from the more recent history? What makes it a grail for you?

Is it the was $300 retail price tag but now you can’t get it for less than $2500….

My grail is always the Blackout False Friends by coarse. Just priced outta my reach, for now.

I filled my love of False Friends with the Reignited Monochrome edition, but it does sit in storage due to no room but at least I know I have it to enjoy when I find the space.

Everything from Coarse is just so perfectly executed! I absolutely love the fur outfit on the False Friends piece. Even the fur on the fabric looks scaled down to match the size of the figure.

One of my Grails would have to be any of the toys from the 3A Tomorrow Kings collection, but specifically the Seven Bones Kyoku. I’ve been a fan of Ashley Wood ever since I started reading the Spawn comics as a kid. His art is gritty and messy and went against everything I knew that a comic book “should” be, but it has this fantastic allure to it that was a perfect match for the antihero qualities of Spawn.

    Seven Bones Kyoku

The Tomorrow Kings toys are a beautiful interpretation of Ashley’s concepts, building them at 1/6 scale with realistic clothing, and they have this future-apocalyptic-urban-samurai vibe that just looks badass. Plus with 30 points of articulation, you could literally make a stop motion movie with one of these characters. Looking at eBay, it’s not entirely out of reach for me, but it’s still a bit higher than my current budget. Also, now that 3A Toys is done, I expect the value of their work to increase over time.

I don’t think I have ever fully appreciated the 3A stuff before, as it never fit in what what I was collecting but I can certainly look at it more with a closer aye and realise the allure of these figures. I’m worried if I look too closely that I may get drawn into this world…

This was a one off from a show, but a girl can dream! Maybe some more tufted kangorumples will come into existence.

Custom Pumpkin Head Wooper Looper by Gary Ham, probably would sell half my collection off to obtain this one

I’ve got a few grails, but if I had to make a top 3 this would be it:

    10th Anniversary Treeson

Treesons got me into collecting and the 10th Anniversary Special Edition is the only one I’m still missing. I’ve been searching for quite some time now with no luck so far, but I’m hoping to find it one day.

    Pink Belladonna

I also love Dust Bunnies by Amanda Louise Spayd and I love pink so the pink Belladonna is one of my grails.

    Unripe print

And then there’s Chris Ryniak’s Unripe print. I managed to get the other four, but this one, still no luck!

Another on my growing list of grails is “The Passage” by Coarse. This piece is intriguing from every angle!
