Back in November, we saw the first glimpse of “The World of Tim Burton x Hot Toys Limited Edition Figure” HERE on TTC. That say we saw multiple Tim Burton goodness and one of them was this! With already the news of Michael Lau x The World of Tim Burton two new figures especially for this occasion. The mighty giants Hot Toys will be releasing a The World of Tim Burton figure too! All in the inspired by Tim Burton. Now launched on Kickstarter! Here’s what Jenny He the curator of The World of Tim Burton had to say about the amazing figure.
“The World of Tim Burton” Hong Kong collaborates with Hot Toys, one of the top brands of collectable figures in the world, to launch the second crossover project. Inspired by a drawing by Tim Burton that was created in the 1980s, Hot Toys transforms the image into a collectable figure, adding another precious item to the wish lists of Burton fans and art collectors alike.
From Imagination to Figurine: An Art Piece for Collectors
Hot Toys collaborates with “The World of Tim Burton” to create a collectable figure, entitled “The World of Tim Burton: An Art Piece for Collectors”, based on a drawing by Tim Burton. It depicts a grinning marionette that acts as its own puppet master. And in his drawing, Tim Burton has added an extra dash of quirkiness with his signature style, intruding deeper into the hearts of viewers.
Through this collaboration, Hot Toys designs this limited-edition figure based on Burton’s drawing and has limited production to only 300 pieces, each uniquely numbered and with Burton’s printed autograph. Jenny He, Curator of “The World of Tim Burton”, adds, “Imbued with psychological undertones that belie its playful and amusing appearance, this figure embodies a central theme of much of Burton’s films and artworks.”
The works of Hot Toys in the past have won the heart of Tim Burton. And this latest art piece is surely a rare chance for Burton fans to add the master’s stunning creation into their own collection. The Launch of the community engagement program supports local art development and give inspiration to the society. Meanwhile, the prototype of the figure is on display in the exhibition store.
