It’s 4-something AM here in Anaheim and The Toy Chronicle are wide awake despite travelling a stupid amount of hours yesterday to get into LA. Yet here we are. On the precipice of DesignerCon 2018, we figured that we’d give you an update on DCon tickets as there are a couple of important items to note this week. Also, DCon releases its own Mobile App and we give it a little play in the run up to the convention starting on Friday!
For those that have already purchased your DesignerCon tickets, you can begin to pick up your Dcon passes (designed by Matt Gondek this year, read HERE) from 1pm on Friday afternoon. You’ll be able to pick them up at Hall C of the Anaheim Convention Center. If you’d like to upgrade your tickets, you can also do this at the same time. Perhaps you’d like to get the VIP ticket but you’ve already purchased the Saturday ticket etc, just swing by the Upgrades booth at Hall C and you can arrange this with the lovely DCon folks! Also, if you are still pondering purchasing your DesignerCon tickets online, you’ll only be able to do this up to Friday. After that you’ll need to purchase tickets at the box office at Anaheim Convention Center from 10am on Saturday morning. Better to buy online HERE rather than join masses of potential queues on Saturday morning.
Now on to the new DesignerCon 2018 Mobile App. Now we all know how much TTC loves a good Mobile App, and it’s great to see other starting to think towards putting their App into the palms of their fans. The DCon Mobile App is pretty cool.
• Use the Venue Map to Find Booths
• Keep ‘Up to Date’ on Show Specials and Exclusives
• Share your DCon 2018 Photos on social media
• Take selfies with fun stickers right from the app
• See vendor list
• Get DCon tweets
One of our favourite aspects of the App is the ability to add DCon stickers to your photos. This’ll be pretty cool throughout the weekend when you’re snapping away at the convention. Taking selfies, pics of artists work etc. Slap some DesignerCon stickers on there too. Ability to share to social media direct from the App too. Our example is terrible, as it’s gone 5am so we snapped our laptop in mid-blog-mode! ha.
The second aspect we like allows you to add your favourites from DCon 2018 and it’ll show you where they are in the venue. This makes it easier to locate them in the vast space that is Anaheim Convention Center. We only wish you could search for particular artist before adding them as a favourite, this would make life a million times easier than scrolling through the endless exhibitors to find your favourites.
If you’re heading to DesignerCon and own and Apple product (sorry no Android App) then you can download the DesignerCon 2018 App from the Apple App Store HERE or search Designer Con 2018 within the App Store.
