COARSE Because I Wanted You To Know Solo Exhibition at Corey Helford Gallery

Brace yourselves for COARSE “Because I Wanted You To Know” Solo Exhibition at Corey Helford Gallery. The beloved work of Mark Landwehr and Sven Waschk will be on display and ready to make your jaws drop to the floor with more stunning art! No need to adjust your eyes with the photos of the pieces that have been made public already. They are NOT renders these are actually made by COARSE! Once again redefining and pushing the boundaries of hand-painted resin, metal, and corian.

Visitors of the exhibition are uninvited guests at a dinner party in its wilder hours. When we arrive at the gallery the evening has already reached its final course, a bombastically colorful climax of vanilla sauces dripping down walls and translucent jellos. As intruders who don’t belong we are eavesdropping on secrets, quietly witnessing moments when people think they are alone, allowing us to reflect on our own intimate memories, which belong to us and no one else.

For over 20 years, the German duo known as coarse as been carving new paths in sculptural storytelling. Artists Mark Landwehr and Sven Waschk explore the melancholy and visual simplicity inherent to German art and fuse it with a sophisticated sense of irreverence, resulting in multi-faceted sculptures and a distinctively unique aesthetic..

All limited-edition original sculptures are handmade in the artists’ production studio near Downtown Los Angeles and are available by inquiry and at gallery exhibitions. Every few months, selected original sculptures become small-run vinyl replicas and are available online to collectors worldwide.
