When two artists come together for one event it can either go tits up or have a jaw dropping effect. News spread, over the past few weeks when the word was out that JRYU and the notorious Jon Paul Kaiser was to do a collaboration for the upcoming Skullhead Samurai custom show. Tell you what, a hundred guesses and no way we would think it would turn out like THIS! Titled “I Revere My Ancestors Strength” & “Through Them I Smite Our Enemies”.
JRYU laid down the sculpt and JPK does what he does best and bless the whole thing with a lick of paint. The Diorama adds more depth to the whole scene and JRYU certainly adds more to the Skullhead Samurai without going overboard as he’s kept the telltale signs that it’s still the Skullhead Samurai.
Geisha itself could be a sculpture itself, actually, both could! We wish we could see this in person, a great example of a collaboration and we wish to see more in the near future.
Art with a story but without words for sure.
