Something a little bit different (but not that much different, mind!) for your Sunday evening. 3D printed shoe accessories! This interesting concept by American company ‘Hickies’ is currently running on Kickstarter at the minute.
Do you fancy re-designing your shoes? You may well be in luck! Transform your shoes into an open source platform for customization.
Pungas are bold shoe accessories. They are 3D printed, easy to use, wearable on different parts of your trainer/sneakers, colourful, and the byproduct of an exclusive collaboration between HICKIES and international artists from the Pictoplasma community. Just like the HICKIES elastic lacing system (worth checking out here), they challenge the status quo and change the way we think about footwear.
Pungas attach to the trainers/sneakers by using a patented connector. If they reach their Kickstarter goal, they will be able to release their connector so that anyone can create their own designs through an easy to use platform on their website.
Hickie have also partnered with 5 artists from PICTOPLASMA, the world’s leading character design community, who have created unique, collectable PUNGAS designs. Now you can take art off your wall and put it on your shoes!
