Long Description

I.e. and E.g.: Latin Abbreviations with Different Uses

Two popular abbreviations, “i.e.” and “e.g.” are often used in research-based for write essay for me. They look similar and are probably thought to be interchangeable because of this, but they have different meanings and uses. The first step in differentiating between the two is to understand what they mean.
E.g.
This abbreviation is used to mean “for example” when you want to illustrate a case(s) in point for a given topic. In Latin, “e.g.” stands for “exempli gratia” (“for the sake of an example”) and is written with a period after each lowercase letter if it is used in the middle of a sentence. If it appears in the beginning, only the first letter is capitalized. When used in writing, many style guides include a comma after the abbreviation.

Here are some example uses:

1) There are many famous book series that have been turned into movies, e.g., “Harry Potter” and “The Lord of the Rings.”

2) Top essay writer went to the car dealer and fell in love with many cars, e.g., the shiny red convertible. The entire abbreviations used in the sentences above are offset by commas.

Because “e.g.” means “for example,” the information coming after it represents just one or a few illustrations of the topic. The three book series mentioned above are not the only ones to have been adapted to film; they just help readers identify with the topic being discussed. Otherwise, there are many other titles such as “The Hunger Games,” “Twilight,” and “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” just to name a few more. Similarly in the second sentence, it reads that Mike fell in love with multiple cars, but the example only provides one case in point to model Mike’s vehicular infatuation
I.e.
Standing for “id est,” this abbreviation literally means “it, that is,” but you can probably remember easier as “in other words” Like the previous abbreviation, this one is also written in lowercase letters and includes a comma in write my essay for free, or receives a capital when beginning a sentence.

1) Sue will be entering the field of study in which she excels, i.e., biology.

2) After two hours of cleaning the house, there was only one thing left to do, i.e., wash the dishes in the sink.

“In other words” means to provide clarification and more information for a topic. “I.e.” introduces a detail that will prove finite or absolute for the sentence, and this is how it differs from “e.g.” In the first sentence, Sue is described as entering one main field of study, so the information after the “i.e.” clarifies which field. Sentence two describes one chore remaining after an extensive cleaning session, so, similar to sentence one, the information after “i.e.” defines the one remaining chore.

If you still find yourself uncertain as to when or how to use these abbreviations, then avoid using them entirely. There are no writing mandates stating that abbreviations are necessary; instead, substitute them by using their definitions—either “for example” or “in other words”—in write my essay for me for free and you will not risk misuse.
