Tonight over at our friends, Spastic Collectibles will be hosting an online custom group featuring a collective of artists. Each challenged with creating a truly distinctive work of art for you on the medium of Sank Toys’ Backpack Boy figure. The artists were given a poem, below, in which to derive their work for this show entitled; ARISE!
just as the sun ascends
as it wards off the grey darkness,
arise. as if the weight is not
too arduous to bear,
arise. as if your life suspends
in the equipoise,
arise. as if you do not flinch from the chill of
ghosts besieging your present,
arise. as if fear does not
live within your cavernous cells,
arise. as if you are through with standing by
for your existence to commence,

Toyman Johnny has gone down the route of creating four one-off customs for the ARISE show much like Kata Customs. A little bit about each…
Hu-Teih was inspired by the idea that love can withstand anything. Breaking free from the cocoon society put around him the past couple years , he was finally able to fly free and be with the one he loved. Priced at $500 and can be bought HERE.
Socially Distanced was inspired by the idea of a teachers desk apple being left behind. With schools getting shut down, and kids no longer coming into class he’s had no one to talk to, which has caused him to feel socially distanced, and blue. The apple sack also plays in as a secondary backpack with the The apple doubles as another head giving the piece an all new take on the school boy look. Priced at $450 and can be bought HERE.
Year of the Ox is inspired by the year 2021 & a tale of twin brothers who just couldn’t seem to catch a break. Society making it impossible to get by, they held their heads up high & worked hard to change things, so in return life rewarded them with all the gold they needed to live right. (Meaning: even when the world doesn’t want you to win, as long as you never give up, you CAN change your luck around). Priced at $450 each and can be bought HERE.

Trash Panda Toys
The final artist in this custom show is Trash Panda Toys, who has created Cosmos for the ARISE show. Limited to 4, Cosmos is available for $300 each HERE on the Spastic Collectibles store!
