The artist behind SAD MERMAID OHAYO, HANNYA & TENGU , ICE CREAM CRAB plus the incredible DI HUANG AKA The KINGDOM, just to name a few puts his twist and gory mark on the classic Nutcracker! Drawing influence from the classic story “The Nutcracker and the King of Mice” written by E.T.A. Hoffman, Nomiwa envisioned the courageous Nutcracker after the war with the rat king. A dark reinterpretation that draws inspiration from the gothic & grotesque German fairy tales from the 1800s. Now Christmas decorations will never be the same again.
The NUTCRACKER by Nomiwa is a bold reinterpretation of the traditional toy soldier transformed into a haunting, candy-coated figure. Drenched in vibrant pink tones and accented with metallic gold details, this piece juxtaposes playful colour with eerie anatomical elements.
