With K11 X Streams Let’s Pop Art Exhibition in full swing, Streams art gallery are thrilled to announce the global release of art toy piece SMURFFACE designed by BustArt after the first launching in K11 Art Mall Hong Kong. BustArt is a street artist best known for his colourful and complex graffiti that can be described as ‘Street Pop-Art’. His style is a mix of classic graffiti, pop art and comic. The comics used are those he used to enjoy when he was a little kid. He mixed the classic character with a throw up which is the term for a quick graffiti painting existing on bubble letters. He used the same shape for the throw-up and the head of the Smurf. The face of SMURFFACE is formed of the word BUST, which stands for the name of the artist.
When Pop Art becomes a lifestyle, a craze way of looking at the world, a culture that we create, it subverted the traditional artistic expression in a young, witty, glamorous ways in which artists use imagery found and elements in different medias and sources. We collaborate with 10 international and local artists to bring you the fun into the art, where encompasses a wide variety of works with very different attitudes and postures. While experiencing the bright colors and creative techniques in presentation, it brings joy and interactive works of art to all.
