The good and bad news comes today from Shanghai-based designers CuriousBoy & O’YanRu of NAUGHTYBRAIN. Back in January, the top guys who brought you guys one of my top picks of 2016 “NO 1 HUSTLER Xinyuan MONKEY KING” marked the Chinese New Year revealed his latest sculpture! Once again taking inspiration from history and mythology, NAUGHTYBRAIN gave it a modern twist and the all important semi-low poly look. Xuan Zang the Chinese Buddhist monk was born! Excitement filled TTC HQ and although it wasn’t a full reveal of Xuan Zang the Chinese Buddhist monk, it was enough for us to WANT one.
Today CuriousBoy showed Xuanzang in full…… Now for the bad news, “As a result of packaging production, the factory out of some problems, the sale time to be postponed, sorry”- CuriousBoy. Not all bad news as we get to see a full front shot of Xuan Zang and possibly better packaging. All good things come to the people who wait, right? Well that’s what they say. Alternative variations are also being considered!
