To be fair, ever since 22nd May 2017, we’ve been planning our next trip to New York City to attend Five Points Festival 2018! If you missed out on Five Points 2017, you really missed out! I even named it as my #1 highlight of 2017, it was that damn good! You can read my 2017 highlights HERE if you so wish to catch up on the good shit from 2017.
So what’s new in 2018? Well, to start with the dates are different. In 2018, Five Points Festival will be on Saturday 2nd June and Sunday 3rd June. We are assuming if plans are similar to 2017, that the Designer Toy Awards 2018 will take place on Friday 1st June. That is an assumption at this stage, as nothing has been confirmed YET. Once we hear concrete details on the 2018 edition of the DTAs, we’ll let you know.
The next new thing for Five Points 2018 is the location. Moving from Lower East Manhattan, Five Points will now be located in Brooklyn. Just over the East River at the Brooklyn Expo Center. We are hearing rumours that this will be a much nicer venue for Five Points (without the shitty carpets that plagued Clutter Magazine in 2017). Trust me, wherever Five Points lays its hat, will be a damn good time had by all. We had an absolute blast in 2017.
2018 will see Five Points drop the comic aspect of the festival. Making more room for Designer Toys, Indie artists and Street Art!
