On Thursday last week, we brought you news that Medicom was re-stocking the KAWS Companion Open Edition figures, but ONLY open to residents of Japan (read HERE). However, due to one of our eagle-eyed readers (thanks, Stephen), KAWS fans around the globe can also buy the KAWS Companion figures from Japan courtesy of a website called Buyee! From what we understand Buyee will make the purchase from Medicom and ship to their warehouse, before shipping internationally to you.

Pricewise they’re 21600 YEN each, which is around £155. On top of this, there is a 500 YEN insurance & check service (which is around £4). Basically once Buyee receives the order from Medicom to their warehouse, they will check that the order is complete & undamaged. Shipping for the full six Companion figures was estimated between 11400 YEN (£81) to 4550 YEN (£32). The higher amount had quicker shipping times. If you bought all six and paid for the express shipping, it would work out at around £1008 (
£168 per Companion figure).
Buyee is just an option if you’re wanting to purchase the KAWS Companion Open Edition figures globally. If you’re in the UK, we are still holding out hope that a UK retailer/gallery will stock these in the future. We can’t guarantee this though.
