First Look: JPK x Kidrobot ‘Azazel’ Demon Dunny!

Well, the Arcane Divination is the gift that keeeeeps on giving! Arriving at TTC HQ yesterday afternoon is the next instalment of this wondersomely dark series – the Azazel Demon 5inch Dunny by Jon-Paul Kaiser! Each time we see a new extension to Arcane Divination world, we lose our minds over how absolutely brilliant each addition actually is. The guys at Kidrobot, along with J*RYU and the artists involved deserve huge amounts of credit for the amount of work that goes into each design & production. They’ve been flawless, and this new Azazel Demon Dunny is top of the class. World class Designer Toy!

What we originally thought was a nice glossy marbled effect on the Azazel Demon Dunny actually has a much deeper meaning behind it. The method of Kintsugi is a Japanese method of repairing broken pottery with lacquer mixed with powdered gold. Giving it new life, part of its history, rather than trying to disguise the breakages. The Azazel Dunny has captured the Kintsugi technique beautifully within its design. It has taken the vinyl toy and made it feel & look that little bit more special. The high gloss finish the Dunny really helps too give it a little extra pop. The additional sculpting on Azazel is fascinatingly awesome too. The winged skulls to the front of the Azazel Dunny really ticks all our boxes for what we want from a Dunny design! Who doesn’t love winged skulls?! It feels & looks like a premium product!

The rear of the Azazel sees the Seal of Saturn imprinted on the Dunny head, in a similar vein to the way that the Clairvoyant 8inch Kidrobot Dunny by J*RYU had the Shakespeare’s lost palindrome, Emit No Evil, Live on Time transcribed on the back of the Dunny. Azazel will sit proudly in the TTC HQ JPK Collection that we have amassed over the past six years. If you’re interested in adding Azazel to your collection too, you’ll be happy to hear that Kidrobot plan to release the Azazel Dunny in September. What you’re seeing above is the retailer version, so we fully expect to see a Kidrobot exclusive version of the Demon Dunny in due course. Once we have more details on this release, we’ll let you know. We cannot wait for this to drop, you guys are gonna love it!
