We brought you news earlier this week regarding the Josh Mayhem ‘Blown Away’ Solo Show starting this weekend at Clutter Gallery, but as the week has progressed we’ve seen more & more teaser images from Josh & Corner12 that are getting us excited for another awesome show at Clutter. Shame we won’t be there in person, but we’re sure that we can arrange a Facebook LIVE stream at some point on Saturday evening. Anyways, back the teaser images. We were sent an exclusive pic of a custom Blown Away Coarse Locks that will be available to purchase on Saturday at the show. Oh the glitter, oh the colour!
Another custom that caught our eye, from an image shared by Josh, which also features on our Featured Image for this post is The Queen’s Heart which used the GOIN Bad Apple as a base, and Josh has given the heart a ‘blown away’ in a deep ruby red colour. Looks fucking fantastic if you ask us. Going to look epic in person.
Surprisingly we’ve not seen many artists take on the KAWS Open Edition Companions over the last six months, we expected more now that they are readily available. Josh has taken the Brown Flayed Companion and given it the Blown Away treatment too, which you can see below in the teaser image…
Personally, I would have liked to see more of the X eye be shown. I’m not overly keen on the thick paint over the face. Either cover the whole half-face or perhaps get the two creamy colours to match. Other than that, I really like this concept. I’m particularly fond of the cream/greeny blown away of the crossbones.
